Copyright & DMCA

Clipsteady processes video that our users supply. We respect copyright, we act on valid complaints, and we terminate repeat infringers.
Our position
We are a processing tool. A user points us at a video and we produce clips from it. We do not select the source material, and we do not publish it — clips are delivered privately back to the user who requested them.
Our terms require every user to hold the rights to the material they submit. If you believe someone has used Clipsteady on your work without permission, tell us and we will act.
Reporting infringement
Send a notice to copyright@clipsteady.com. To be actionable under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), it must include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act for them.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it — a Clipsteady clip URL or job reference wherever possible.
- Your contact details: address, telephone number and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
We will acknowledge receipt, and where the complaint is valid we will remove or disable access to the material and notify the user who submitted it.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, your contact details, and consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court. We may restore the material after the statutory period unless the complainant tells us they have filed an action.
Repeat infringers
We keep a record of complaints against each account and terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe. That is a policy we apply, not merely one we state.
Misuse of this process
Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice carries liability for damages under § 512(f). We take bad-faith notices seriously in both directions.
Source material fetched by URL
When a user asks us to fetch a video by URL, we retrieve it to fulfil that request. We do not retain source video after processing — it is deleted once clips are produced — and we do not republish, index or make source material available to anyone but the user who submitted it. Fetching from a platform may be contrary to that platform's own terms; the user is responsible for that decision, and our terms require them to have the right to use the material.
