Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated 16 August 2026
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. It is short because the rules are simple.
Do not submit material you have no right to use
This is the rule that matters most here. Clipsteady will happily process any video you point it at; that is not permission. You must own the material, have a licence for it, or have a clear legal basis such as fair dealing. A public URL is not a licence.
Prohibited content
- Child sexual abuse material. Reported to the authorities, account terminated, no warning.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, or sexual content involving anyone who has not consented to its distribution.
- Content that incites violence or terrorism, or that harasses or targets an individual.
- Material that impersonates a real person in order to deceive — including synthetic footage of a real person saying things they did not say.
- Content unlawful in the United Kingdom.
Prohibited behaviour
- Circumventing credit limits, whether by multiple accounts, shared keys or automation.
- Removing, cropping out or obscuring the free-tier watermark.
- Reselling raw access to the API as though it were your own service, unless you have a written agreement with us.
- Attempting to disrupt the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or interfere with other users' jobs.
- Using the service to build a competing dataset — for example submitting material solely to harvest transcripts or scores at scale.
Security research
We welcome it. Report findings to security@clipsteady.com before disclosing them, do not access other users' data, and do not degrade the service while testing. We will not pursue researchers who act in good faith within those bounds.
Enforcement
Depending on severity we may warn you, remove content, suspend the account, or terminate it. For the items in the first two bullets above, termination is immediate. Where we can do so fairly, we will tell you what happened and why.
